Only steps away from the Kemah Waterfront Restaurant and Amusements, Magical Times nestled in the Kemah Lighthouse District, is proud to announce their opening. Magical Times is a step back in time with a quaint and charming retail specialty shop featuring limited edition artist dolls and many more unique gifts, souvenirs and treasures for the whole family. "Doll collecting is one of the three largest hobby groups in the world, vying with stamps and miniatures for first place. The study of dolls is truly the study of mankind. Few artifacts reflect our history as accurately as those of dolls. From food to fashion, dolls and their accessories provide a fascinating window to the past and provide a record for the future," says Linda Nelson owner of Magical Times.
Now open as a Doll and Retail Shop, much more is planned in the very near future for this charming shop. Scheduled to open in April of 2005, is the Tea Room offering Victorian Tea Parties for little girls. The Parties will include makeup, hats, dresses, jewelry, story time, an etiquette lesson and other fun activities. And from "frills to chills" Magical Times is projecting for May 2005 a Pirate Adventure, with play ship, live Pirate, costumes and a treasure hunt where your little Matey will have an adventure to remember sailing the 7 seas with his friends. "These are a few of the things planned for this entertainment venue," says Linda, also, "We are planning "U Go Grl" trading card parties along with other community events this summer."
"Magical Times was opened because we believe in the positive and uplifting bond that is established between family members and friends when they take the time to interact and have fun together." said Linda. "The objective of Magical Times is to spotlight children and families during fun and educational events," said Nelson. "The exciting interactive approach we've taken with Magical Times is our principal goal, and we plan to make that goal a reality."
"Our major purpose is for the kids to leave happy, excited and wanting to come back," says Serena Hood, Event Coordinator. "Magical Times will include fun activities such as costumes, books, games and much more." "We are not planning only Birthday Parties, but plan to expand the horizon to include 'My Dolly & Me Parties', 'My Daddy & Me Parties and more'." Magical Times will also focus on learning through role-playing, teamwork and imagination which will help them to achieve their goals and give them a sense of accomplishment and a great sense of self-worth which is an important part of the fun. "We want Magical Times to be a highly interactive family entertainment venue," says Linda. "We also hope in the future to include community involvement with arts and crafts, local entertainment and festivals."
Magical Times goals are to connect fantasy and reality with the most exciting elements of fun, imagination, hands-on experiences and storytelling into one, seamless experience. We hope that this interactive entertainment and innovation will allow for the creation of a popular family amusement venue.
